My work and practice begins with an open heart and a curious mind. I draw upon the dedication and wisdom of those who have and continue to offer their lives to help others find their way. With these qualities guiding me, my work is naturally eclectic and integrative, as it considers all aspects of the human condition (mind, heart, and body).
Counseling can look differently for different people. I work from the perspective that it is a collaborative effort. You have the deepest understanding of your life. With your commitment and courage to engage in a therapeutic relationship, a space is created to allow for acknowledgment, healing, and growth. You get to choose what you want to work on and together we create the map to get there.
Working with me, you can:
Express and explore what matters to you and establish this as an anchor of purpose for your life.
Build confidence in trusting your intuition.
Honor old ways of protection and survival, while realizing and establishing new ways to thrive.
Find a rhythm that fosters your personal growth in your own time and way.
Identify and challenge that which keeps you stuck.
Accept and meet inevitable limitations that may naturally exist at a given time in your life with compassion.
Realize, develop, and engage the strengths you have to participate in your life.
My work is grounded in empirically-based modalities of counseling and psychotherapy and includes but is not limited to.
Mindfulness.
Attachment theory.
Person-Centered.
Cognitive and behavioral therapies (CBT).
Neurobiologically based modalities Somatic and Polyvagal theory).
Narrative theories.
Family systems.
Trauma-informed.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
